Rearranging the case

My ideal rainy Sunday activity

Other Eurorack enthusiasts out there I hope (or assume) would certainly agree with me that rearranging your modular case is a wonderfully cathartic & satisfying activity - especially on a grey & rainy Sunday afternoon over the holidays. Our house suffered a flood in our kitchen while we were out of town for a few days so I’m using this as a much needed distraction from the mess everywhere & all of the fans & dehumidifiers buzzing away.

I spend so much time thinking about my modular case - what modules to sell to make space for new ones, how to best optimize a small space to get the most out of it, how to rearrange things so that I can access everything in a smooth way when I’m in that flow state in the studio, how to minimize the amount of longer cables needed which leads to a real snake den, etc.

I have a 7U / 84HP Intellijel travel case as my main modular brain. At the moment I am trying my best to consolidate & have everything I need right now in that single case. A friend of mine graciously gave me a smaller 3U / 88HP Arturia Rackbrute which at the moment I’ve been thinking can be used as a separate modular processing station. It’s also a nice space to put extra modules I’m trying out or I can use it to set aside modules I’m not using right now.

Anyway, back to work as I reference the Modular Grid case design I’ve mocked up as I put everything back together in a new & improved way. Here’s how it’ll look:
